Did you know today is National Woman’s Day?
Its a day to celebrate the women who have influenced you in your life. So, to celebrate that, our gratitude team at Monat challenged us to make a list. A list of not only woman in Monat who have shaped who we are today but ALL the woman in our lives who have played a roll in who we are.
Naturally, I was so excited to do this but knew how hard it would be to get through. You know me… I am a cry baby. Lots of Kleenex went into the making of this list.
I have been blessed with so many wonderful women in my life! I have a long list of strong, influential, leaders, friends, mothers, sisters, and wives who have left their mark on my life. When I made my list I could not stop writing. Most of the women who came to mind are the women who I spend A LOT of time with. Women who have challenged me and trusted me. Women that I admire, made be better and call me on my crap.
They know who they are, but I still see so much value in writing it out and letting them know. But, it is important to note that this list is not in any particular order and is not a favorites list. I don’t play favorites. These are just my daily influencers and woman I look up too. I also have to ask your forgiveness if you are reading this and I have missed you. I am coming off of 5 straight days of coaching, teaching, and training. I LOVE to do it but it can be mentally tiring.
First on the list is my Grandmom Kate. She was the only person that I emulated my life through. She was a cashier at a tiny grocery store in Indiana and LOVED her job. She took a lot of pride in it. Everyone in town knew her and loved her. They called her Bird because of her infectious laugh and her goal in life was to make people smile. That anyone who came into her lane would leave a happier person.
The second on my list is Maryanne. Maryanne was a dear friend that passed away 14 years ago. She was like a sister, aunt and mother all in one. I am beyond blessed to have had her influence in my life and I miss her every day.
Third are my girls, Naomi and Catherine. They make me better every day. I can’t imagine my life with those babies. They are my miracles and my rock.
This list was hard to get through because I cried a lot. But I feel so much better having done it. MY heart is so full right now.
Gratitude is so important to practice in our lives. It’s important to take the time to remember and list all the good things in your life, especially the people…and in this case the women.
Today on National Woman’s day, I challenge you to make your list. Take it one step further by putting it out on FB and challenging others to do it too. I promise you will be so happy you did. But trust me, have those Keelx ready! Please check out the rest of my list HERE and leave a comment with a couple of your women on your list.
Happy International Woman’s Day!!
